Christa ScheerSeeking a balance to many of her outdoor pursuits (sailing, kiteboarding, surfing, mountain biking), Christa started doing barre workouts in Santa Cruz, CA.Her obsession with barre came while she was pregnant with her daughter. The ability to get an effective, full-body workout while pregnant kept her coming to class through her entire pregnancy.Over the last 6 years, Christa has practiced many methods of barre while traveling with her husband all around the world. She is now bringing her favorite barre elements into her fun and dynamic classes in her hometown of Hood River.Power Pilates core mat l & core mat ll certified. Certified TRX Suspension Training.

Rose AppelMom, nurse, mermaid at heart, turned barre-addict, Rose brings her love of music, movement & physical activity to her barre classes. Rose grew up dancing, cheerleading, and loving exercise in general. A passion for outdoor activities (surfing, kiting and snowboarding) also inspire the choreography and physicality of Rose's classes. As a busy mom, and full time nurse, barre is not only her favorite workout, but a creative outlet as well. She loves the challenge of creating new choreography, upbeat playlists, and a fun atmosphere for all of her classes at Hood River Barre. Power Pilates core mat l & core mat ll certified.

Katie AbercrombieKatie has worked in the outdoor industry as a river guide for the last decade. She spends her winter months both traveling and on the ski hill. She was drawn to barre class in pursuit of keeping in shape through the off season, and quickly caught the bug. Being a former competitive cheerleader and National Cheerleaders Association instructor, Katie felt right at home in the studio. She loves the energy and camaraderie that it provides. Katie hopes to help others reach their fitness goals while providing a fun and energetic, yet challenging class.   Power Pilates core mat l & core mat ll certified.Certified TRX Suspension Training.

Mariam AppelMariam, a registered nurse-turned barre instructor, shares a passion for the outdoors with her co-workers at Hood River Barre. Mariam grew up in Hood River and brings her athleticism and love for mountain biking, snowboarding, and hiking to her barre practice. More than just an athlete, Mariam fuses a contemporary styles of movement, incorporating athleticism, dance and pilates into her choreography. Expect deep stretches, hip isolations, and plenty of core work in her unique, upbeat barre classes!Power Pilates core mat I & intermediate mat II certified.

Victoria WilliamsA lawyer-turned-yoga teacher, Victoria initially turned to yoga for relief from stress, and her practice developed from a cherished outlet to a passionate calling. She has a deep appreciation for yoga's ability to encourage balance in daily life, on and off of the mat. Victoria completed teacher training with Eoin Finn Yoga Blissology.Her classes balance focus and flow, combining detailed alignment instruction with a thoughtful, fluid practice designed to awaken the power of the breath and the inner stillness of the mind. Victoria loves to be outside (preferably snowboarding or surfing!) and she draws daily inspiration for her practice and teaching from nature.
Nika Kermani
Nika KermaniInfluenced by her Persian heritage, Nika grew up dancing with her family. This passion for dance has followed her throughout life. She danced locally at Columbia Gorge Dance Academy while growing up in White Salmon and later for the Trojan Dance Force at the University of Southern California. Naturally, she wanted to share her passion for movement with others. She was drawn to the arena of dance related fitness as a means of making dance accessible and fitness enjoyable. She became a certified member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) while in college and began teaching at the campus gym as well instructing volunteer classes and private lessons. Drawing from her experiences performing on the basketball court and instructing Zumba, Nika creates dance fitness classes that tone, energize, and inspire. She is excited to share this with the community in which she grew up and especially looks forward to the bonds of friendship it fosters. 
Giselle Kennedy Lord
Giselle Kennedy LordGiselle Kennedy Lord is a mover and a shaker. She spent much of her youth training in jazz and ballet with a competitive dance company in Los Angeles, CA, where she grew up. When she was 18, Giselle moved to funky-fresh San Francisco and discovered an expansive new world of movement by regularly attending Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, and West African dance classes at her University and throughout the city. She performed with and at the University of San Francisco while studying there and danced with the Senior Company of The Presidio Dance Theatre for three years.Giselle moved to Oregon in early 2010 and lived in Portland for just over a year, where she continued to take class, perform, and teach. She relocated to Hood River in 2011 and has been teaching adult dance classes and choreographing for the Columbia Gorge Dance Academy Company since 2012. Giselle is inspired by 90s Hip Hop, the sound of the ocean, foreign films, vegetable farms, ethnic food, outdoor yoga, fresh tracks on a snowboard, tomatoes in her garden, wonderful people, and global adventures.
